by ZOUJUECHENG 16 Jan 2024

Google Fiber project team announced in October of this year that it would provide 20 Gig broadband services using Nokia's 25G PON solution.

Today, the Google Fiber project team officially announced the launch of the 20 Gig + Wi-Fi 7 plan for several cities in the United States, with a monthly fee of $250.

The Google Fiber project team stated that it will start using Nokia's 25G PON to bring a faster internet experience, beginning with Kansas City, the Research Triangle area in North Carolina, Arizona, and Iowa. The project is estimated to start installations in the first quarter of next year.

Nokia mentioned that its 25G PON fiber broadband solution enables GFiber to build a future-oriented network that can immediately meet the growing demand for greater capacity and enhanced broadband services. Nokia's 25G PON solution allows GFiber to reuse its existing fiber cables and deploy active devices in its network to quickly provide customers with 20 Gig symmetric broadband services.
