Overview
The ADSS (All Dielectric Self-Supporting Aerial Cable) is an outdoor aerial cable for overhead power and telecom routes. It carries 48 or 96 G.652D single-mode fibres in PBT loose tubes stranded around an FRP central strength member in a 1+6 or 1+8 structure under a black PE jacket.
Aramid yarn carries the tensile load, so the cable is fully self-supporting over the documented spans of 100 m, 120 m and 150 m with no metallic earth or bonding, and the product design life is more than 30 years.
ADSS Key Features
- 48-core or 96-core single-mode construction with 12 fibres per PBT loose tube
- FRP central strength member plus aramid yarn for self-supporting spans of 100 m, 120 m and 150 m
- All-dielectric design with a black PE outer sheath, so no metallic earthing is required
- G.652D fibre: attenuation of 0.36 dB/km or less at 1310 nm and 0.22 dB/km or less at 1550 nm
- Operating temperature -40 to +70 °C with a 20D dynamic and 10D static minimum bend radius
