Overview
The 1U Chassis FAN Card is the hot-pluggable fan unit of the 1U DWDM chassis. It sits in the subrack and moves air through the chassis to keep the cards inside their operating temperature range.
The card collects the air outlet temperature in real time, regulates its own speed and reports faults, so the chassis keeps running even when a single fan fails.

- Status indication — solid green for normal operation, solid red for a fault
- Electronic tag read by the host over the I2C bus, recording production date, PN/SN and runtime from power-on
- Alarm detection for communication loss, fan failure, abnormal speed and single fan stall
- N:1 redundancy — the system runs for up to 96 hours at normal temperature after one fan card fails
