Overview

The OLM OS Card is the optical light source board of the optical line monitoring system. It generates the test light that is fed into the monitored fibre, and its output can be supplied on 2/4/8/12/16/18 channels depending on the configuration.

The board uses a DFB light emitting device and is available at 1310nm, 1470nm, 1490nm, 1550nm, 1590nm and 1610nm. Output power is -7 to +3 dBm, in continuous output mode, with short term output stability of ±0.03dB/15min and long term stability of ±0.1dB/8h at 20 ℃.

The source connects over SM (9/125um) fibre with LC/PC connectors. It occupies a single slot, equal to 0.5U, and is supported by all OSP3800 series chassis, so the same board can be used across the whole monitoring platform.
