Description

Overview

The SG8161 GPON/EPON ONU is a desktop optical network unit that terminates a single PON uplink and presents four gigabit Ethernet ports, one FXS POTS voice port, a CATV RF overlay port, dual-band WiFi5 and two USB ports. It fits high-end home users and small to medium-sized businesses that need data, voice and television service on one access line.

It accesses mainstream GPON and EPON OLTs and interworks with Fiberhome AN5516, ZTE C220/C300/C320/C600 and Huawei MA5600/MA5680/MA5800 platforms, so it can be added to an existing access network without changing the OLT side. Voice runs over SIP and IMS SIP with G.711/G.722/G.729 codecs, T.30/T.38 fax, echo cancellation to ITU-T G.165/G.168-2002 and GR-909 line testing, while the CATV port carries RF video with remote management. Management runs over WEB, TELNET, CLI, OAM, OMCI and TR069.

The unit measures 205 mm × 136 mm × 24 mm, weighs under 250 g without its adapter, runs on 12 V 1.5 A and draws less than 12 W. Front-panel indicators — PWR, PON, LOS, 5GHz WiFi, 2.4GHz WiFi, LAN1-4, FXS, WPS, USB1-2 and CATV — show link state at a glance, and an operating range of −5 °C to +45 °C with 10 % to 90 % non-condensing humidity suits unattended installation.
