Description

Overview

The SG5000 single-port GPON/EPON ONU is a compact desktop optical network unit that delivers one high-speed data service to a subscriber over a passive optical network. It terminates a single SC/PC PON uplink and presents one gigabit Ethernet port, which makes it a straightforward fit for FTTH and FTTB access where a single Ethernet drop is enough.

It accesses mainstream GPON and EPON OLTs and is tested for interworking with Fiberhome AN5516, ZTE C220/C300/C320/C600 and Huawei MA5600/MA5680/MA5800 platforms, so it can be dropped into an existing access network without changing the OLT side. Bridge and route modes (PPPoE, DHCP or static IP), NAT, ALG, DMZ and IPv4/IPv6 dual stack cover the usual subscriber edge requirements.

The unit measures 80 × 75 × 20 mm, weighs under 250 g without its adapter, runs on 12 V 0.5 A and draws less than 6 W. Front-panel indicators (PWR / PON / LOS / LAN) show link state at a glance, and the indicator light energy-saving mode reduces standby consumption further. An operating range of −5 °C to +45 °C and 10–90 % non-condensing humidity suits unattended installation in cabinets, wall boxes and subscribers’ premises.
